Maya Kroth’s journalistic curiosity has taken her inside Tijuana roller discos, underground puppet theaters in Barcelona, the halls of the Honduran congress and indigenous villages in Guatemala–all in pursuit of a good story. A 2012 Fulbright fellow to Spain and winner of the 2013 Inter-American Press Association Scholarship to Mexico City, her work has appeared in Foreign Policy, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Sunset and more. She currently lives out of a suitcase–albeit not a pink one–as she splits her time between Mexico City, San Diego, New York City and Kalamazoo.
